MD’s Message For World Post Day 2024
October 9th of every year was earmarked by the Universal Postal Union (UPU) as a day to commemorate the World Post Day. This year’s theme is “150 years of enabling communication and empowering peoples across nations”. I take this opportunity to commemorate this day with all Ugandans and the entire world. This year’s celebration activity is being carried out at Gulu Post Office where radio talk shows, blood donation drive, school visits and town hall discussions for opinion leaders are being carried out. As we celebrate this day, I want to take a moment to reflect on our journey together. Since the early 1950s, the Posta Uganda has been at the forefront of communication, connecting families, businesses, and communities across our beautiful nation and beyond.
This milestone is not just a celebration of our history; it is a testament to the enduring spirit of innovation and dedication that has defined our service. From the days of handwritten letters to the advent of digital communication, we have evolved to meet the needs of our people through our e-services that offer a range of reliable and accessible services, from traditional mail and parcel delivery to innovative solutions like the E-Postal Address, simplifying communication and logistics. Our express courier services guarantee swift deliveries, while our secure money transfer options allow for easy transactions both locally and internationally. Additionally, we connect customers with vital e-government services, streamlining access to important government functions.
Our mission has always been to empower individuals and foster connections. With our international partnership with over 192 countries and our nationally distributed outlets, we believe that communication is the cornerstone of progress, and we remain committed to providing reliable, accessible and affordable services for everyone, no matter where you are.
As we look to the future, we will continue to embrace new technologies and ideas, striving to enhance our services and reach even greater heights. Together, we can build a more connected and empowered Uganda.
I wish you all a Happy World Post Day.
